Kanipakam Temple….

This is my 25th post. So, I thought to tell something about my very favourite God Lord Ganesha (Vinayaka)…

Kanipakam is a small village in Chittoor district on the bank of Bahuda River. In the word Kanipakam, “Kani” means wetland and “Pakam” means flow of water into that wetland.

The story of the temple says that there were three brothers each one had a handicap. One was dumb, one was deaf and one was blind. They lived by irrigating a small piece of land. For that they used to get water from a well using Piccota system. One day the well got dried up. So they started to dig it. While doing, one had hit a stone like formation. He was shocked to see blood oozing out from it. Within few seconds, the entire water turned into red colour.

Thus, startled by this divine sight, all the three became normal getting rid of their deformities. When villagers came to know about this miracle, they dig deep and found a swayambhu idol of Lord Vinayaka emerged from the swirling water. Ultimately they offered many number of coconuts with all prayers- modesty kneeling before the new idol. The indication of this led to the modification in the usage of the Tamil word "Kaniparakam" and later pronounced as Kanipakam.

Even now, the idol is in the original well and the springs of the well are perennial and the eternal. During the rainy season, the holy water from the well overflows even today.

Another striking and strange feature of the idol is that it is still growing in size. At present, we can see the knees and the abdomen of the idol. Smt. Lakshmamma, an ardent devotee had offered a 'Kavacham' (Armour) to the Lord, fifty years ago but today it is out of size and doesn't fit the idol. The holy water from the well is offered to the devotees as theertham.

When my brother came in leave from London during this March 2011, we went to Kanipakam for my son’s first head shave. We even named my son after Lord Ganesha.  Actually, my son’s name is Sri Avaneesh in that Sri denotes “Sri Sai Ram” and Avaneesh denotes “Lord Ganesha”. We were so happy to name him. Enjoy the Snaps…

Two snaps were my little one with my bro…

After, we visited a nearby Lord Shiva temple. It’s under construction. Still, we got some snaps…

Music and Studies…

I love listening to music while travelling and also while cooking and cleaning…

After two years, I got a chance to listen to music while travelling in a bus. Every time my son will be with me sleeping or doing naughty things. This time he slept in his father’s lap. So I was free… Also I was sat in a different seat in the middle while my hubby and son were in the last row of the bus…

So, I enjoyed the music till the end of the travel. Wow, when we listen our favourite music with eyes closed will make us feel that we were in a very different place…  We will involve in that music deeply….

Also, while doing work, this will make me feel fresh instead of getting tired… In home, I will switch to the music channel and start doing my works… You know, bcoz of this my son too get addicted to music. If we try to change the channel while he’s watching his favourite song, then he will shout like anything which will make us to remain in that channel itself….

When I was preparing for my exams during college days, I will take a break and watch 2 or 3 songs with a cup of tea. This will help me to concentrate well in my studies…

And, one important advice of mine is during exams, don’t go in bikes. Try to avoid it or if you have no option, please don’t go in too much speed…

When I was doing my fourth semester exams, I had an accident. I just finished my first paper and got two days leave for next paper. In an emergency condition, I helped my friend to get her hall ticket. She was driving and I sat behind her. You know, due to her urgency, she raised the accelerator which made me fall in the street. Thank God, no vehicles came. When I stood up, I got a wound in my head and blood was flowing… Don’t know what to do… Suddenly, a person recognised me as he knows my father took me to my home… After getting treatment, I attended my exams with much difficulty…

Due to pain, I couldn’t prepare well for my exams... Luckily, I cleared my papers without any arrears…

So be careful guys….  Take care…

A Story of a Mother…

Once there lived a poor mother, who had a son. She had only one eye. She struggled a lot to raise her son. But he doesn’t like her because of her ugliness. Though she knows that her son doesn’t like her, she showered much affection to him.

One day, her son forgot to take lunch. She worried a lot and took the box to the school. But by seeing her, all her son’s friends started to make fun of him giving worst comments about his mother. He felt very shame and so shouted a lot to his mother. Poor mother felt very sad….

She tried her level best and raised her son with good education. He too studied well and settled with a very good career. He got married and left his poor mother all alone in that village and settled in the town. She thought to visit him. So, she went to his house. But, he scolded her very worstly and told that he doesn’t want to see her anymore….

Poor mother cried a lot and returned to her village. She didn’t thought about her and felt happy that his son was very happy with his family. That’s it.

After many years, her son had some official visit to that village. While he was crossing her home, he thought to see her. So, he went inside. A neighbour recognised him and told that his mother has expired a year before. Also he gave a letter to him which his mother requested to give if he arrives…

He opened the letter to see what she has written…

“Dear son, though you don’t like me, I loved you so much.
When you were a child, a sharp stick pierced your eye while you were playing.
Due to that, you lost an eye. I was worried that in future everyone will make fun of you. I can’t tolerate that. So, I gave my eye to you….

May God Bless You”

By reading this, he felt very guilty and stood still not knowing what to do….

Actually, I read this story in a book. I don’t even remember when. By visiting madrassi’s blog “Trust your Mom”, I remembered this story. I thought to share this with you all….

When I and my dad read this story, we felt tears in our eyes at the end...

She is really really great….

House Warming Function….

Last week we had my parent’s house warming function… After these many years they had built a house in our native place. So, we were really excited about it.

Just behind our house, there is a railway track within walkable distance. So every 5-10 minutes we can see the trains crossing… My son really enjoyed it.

Compared to this Chennai busy atmosphere, our native was a very different one. I realised the peace there. Having fun with friends and relatives is really cool. One thing is, my son was just uncontrollable… I struggled a lot… Seeing many kids, he’s really excited….

Also, I couldn’t watch the entire sequence of grahapravesam due to smoke (yagam). My son started to shout whenever I entered into house. So, I was just wandering out with my son… Hope, I can watch the video….

And also we were little bit worried about my brother… We missed him a lot… Iam sure that he will return from London soon and watch it in video…

Birthday Celebration…

My son’s birthday was on Sep 6th. This is his second birthday.  Last time, his father went to abroad. So we didn’t celebrate. This time we decided to celebrate his birthday. I started to prepare decoration works three days before.

I just thought to decorate simply. So we bought some color papers. My cousin, who is studying 7th standard, is residing in our apartment only. He’s interested in crafts work. So he gave an idea of creating a ribbon with two colours. I just remembered my old way of doing rose with that paper. Luckily it came well.  So I finally got some idea with this. Also we bought some center roof hanging, balloons and ready made Tom and Jerry happy birthday sheet. I love Tom and Jerry show. So iam really excited….

I invited some of our relatives and neighbors a day before…. I was so worried about rain and power cut… As I worried, there is no power on that day from 9 am to 6 pm. And when power came, it’s started to rain heavily. Oh my God… I was so much worried. Everything was ready, but it’s raining.

Thank God, rain has stopped and everyone started to come… We enjoyed a lot… I hope you all will be enjoying with this post….
