Water Stagnant & Drainage Issues…

Drainage system plays a very vital role in cities as there are mostly buildings… Nowadays Apartments are the one we often see.

It has the advantage of occupying many families within a limited space. Also, the fun in apartment life has no boundary that too as kids. Families will celebrate all festivals together whatever it may be. Distribute food items, with love. This creates a very nice bond between them. Also, it is safe to be in apartment. If in case of emergency, many neighbours will be there to help us.

In addition to this, we have some disadvantages too. If families have babies, then that’s all. Babies won’t sleep due to the noise created by kids while playing. These create lots of problems. Also, maintenance plays a very important role in Apartment life. Every family has to contribute in maintaining cleanliness which is a major issue. Also, if drainage system is not well in Apartments, then that’s it. We have to dispose the drainage water frequently..

If cities don’t have proper drainage facilities then it results in water stagnant which causes many diseases… That too in rainy season, it is worst. Below were the snaps that I took near our apartment.

I didn’t mean to hurt anyone. I also didn’t say that all Apartments and Cities are like this. Just sharing my thoughts….

  1. There are definitely pros and cons to residing in apartments. In my city and country it can be more convenient to live in an apartment complex. All maintenance concerns are attended to by the staff who work there.

If the A/C goes out, someone comes and fixes it (usually within 24 hrs.) and the same applies to water issues as well. The downside to apartment life is the 'paper thin' walls and noise associated with close living. The fear of who your new neighbors will be when the good, old ones leave :)

  5. As we know, the basic principle, every coin has two faces, it's up to us, how well we handle something..I do also live in Apartment, and I think it has become need of big cities...

And about the drainage system, absolutely it's important, in fact the most important thing specially in rainy seasons..

  6. Came via Urmi's blog. Very true issues. Apartments need dedicated and committed flat owners to keep the place easy to live in.
We have our small bungalow, with a few bungalows nearby. Most of the em do not care about cleanliness outside their homes :-). This is a constant irritant in otherwise peaceful area.

And in front there is a huge apartment complex. I imagine that the complex has a good system of maintenance. Grass is greener I suppose.

It all boils down to our attitude, which is "So long as my own house is clean, why should I bother?". Very Indian indeed.

  12. Improper drainage system cause floods in most cities my friend, when it rained water will just flood on the street or overflowing major canals. Well speaking about life in an apartment, it's never an issues here because we treated all members like a member of a big family, last Christmas we were just like brothers and sisters giving and sharing. We are all working, so kids are rarely brought here because most our origins are from nearby provinces . Thank you for sharing this. I guess self discipline about cleanliness will mostly matter. Happy new Year kalai :)
